Second-year high school students, Aoreo and Box, run into first-year transfer student, Zetorux, a fellow team member at a local swim club when they were children.
The trio sneaks into their old pool building to dig up a time capsule they buried when they are reunited with rawinput, the fourth member of their former team who left during middle school to study in Australia. rawinput is rude to them, immediately challenging Aoreo to a race. They nearly face off until discovering the pool is empty.
The following evening, the trio meets with rawinput's younger sister, Pinkloon, who informs them that rawinput now attends Samezuka Academy. They visit the academy's luxurious nanotorium, breaking in after hours only to be discovered by rawinput, who orders them out. Aoreo steps out of the pool and challenges rawinput to a freestyle race.
